Showered once again

Christine Wright and Mary Prout are the women responsible for such a fun Baby Shower today. We were showered by many beautiful outfits for Zoe, educational books, developmental toys{baby einstein}, and many other great things. She is coming into the world with an abundance of awesome stuff. We are ready. Thanks ladies for such a fun afternoon, it was a beautiful way to spend a Saturday. We love you and appreciate all that you have done for us and our little family.

Our Doctor says

Tyler and I have weekly appointments with Dr. Yu. We always look forward to seeing her. Seeing her means finding out more about our little Zoe. Today's news she has continued to drop and her heart beat has dropped to 135 beats per minute, which means her brain has fully matured. Our doctor says that she is ready and would like to even see her come this coming week. Can you believe it any day now we could be holding Zoe in our arms. Only excitement consumes us as we come to find that our desires have been realized. Our families are hoping for a 4th of July baby. How fun will that be if it happens.

UPS yet again

This mornings delivery was sheets for Zoe's crib. We haven't bought the mattress yet but this is just a little taste of what her bedding will look like. I was never a huge fan of pink, but for some reason I have been bitten by the pink bug because everything in Zoe's room is pink and I am actually ok with it, in fact I love it. If it wasn't for the fact that we want more than one child trust me there would of been more things pink like her stroller and ect. Although I did promise Tyler that if we have another girl the colors for her will be lavender. Were having so much fun right now. I know it seems like all we blog about lately is about the baby and all her stuff. Maybe that's why once couples have babies there whole world shifts to a whole new demension of focus. Sorry this probably wont change much once she comes. We will make efforts to talk about other things important like Tyler's education, global warming that's a favorite right, oh I know NPR National Public Radio. Thanks again to all of our friends and family who have been so supportive, loving, and generous.

There is a light at the end of the tunnel

This is just a preview of what Tyler and I have been working on for the past two weeks and been rushing to get done before Zoe comes. It's almost done, there is finally a light at the end of the tunnel and we are in arms length of it. The las and final project is curtains and closet drapes that I am working on with my mother in law. All my friends that just had their babies worked on knitting blankets, booties, sweaters, and hats. That was not my style it's probably a good thing. I still wanted to make her something so I decided to make the drapes and curtains in her room. Once that's done it's ready for baby Zoe to come home to.

Zoe's Crib

Another delivery by UPS. Our beautiful crib has come. No it did not arrive like this, it came in a big boxs with a lovely manual. Can I just say that life is so much easier when there are manuals involved. While Tyler was at work I thought I would lock myself in Zoe's room and put my nose right in the manual. I really enjoyed it and look at the finished product. Now lets just hope I followed the directions correctly and there wont be any mishaps. I'll get Bailey to do a test run, so far he has done an excellent job with her other stuff.

They just keep coming

UPS must have our address memorized by now, with all the generosity from our family and friends their really putting these guys to work on behalf of Zoe. This beautiful area rug arrived yesterday and we finally layed it out once the new carpet was installed. It goes well with her bedding. Thanks Family.

Out with the old in with the new

The moment we have been waiting for, New carpet in Zoe's room has arrived. This picture on the left is the old carpet, it has served us well for all of my brothers junior high and high school years and now we bid thee a farewell. We welcome in the new graciously and now can start setting up the crib and other furniture. We love new carpet. It's amazing how little things can make you happy.

A work in progress continues

This is phase two of the nursery room. The paint has been applied and the room cleaned out. Now we wait for the carpet to come. Yesterday my mother and I went shopping for some carpet. We found a beautiful woven carpet in a earth tone color to match the swiss coffee and chaparral. The installation of the carpet comes this Wednesday. We will make sure to post.

Peg Perego Pliko P3

This week has felt like Christmas. Literally each day this week we have gotten something in the mail for Zoe. For someone who hasn't been born yet she is getting tons of gifts. She is loved by many that's for sure. Today's UPS delivery, the stroller. Peg Perego Pliko P3 is a great stroller for those who are looking. It's light weight frame made of Alumnium, fold up system is easy like an umbrella. Front wheels pivot or can be stationary making movement very easy. Movablilty with the new seat belt system, functions for many occasions. Italy made and the finest. I know I sound like a salesmen right. My sister in law Angela actually introduced me to this stroller. It's been nice to have her be a year ahead of me with experience since she just had her first a year ago. As you can see Bailey is demonstrating the use of the stroller. Many people may think its abuse, but I like to think of it as my deprivation as a child to not having played with dolls and that I am just a late bloomer. Courtney I will make sure to give you for a gift a calender of Bailey like the Ann Geddes pics.

We reach another milestone.

Today makes it official that Tyler is a Cal Poly Pomona Student and will be a part of their education system for the next 2 years for their undergraduate program and then another year in a half for their Masters program. YEAH!!!!!! He had been accepted way back in the winter but it was all contingent on weither he passed his current classes at Citris. Today we found out that he passed two of his hardest classes Stats and Logic. Not only did he pass the classes but he passed with exceptional grades B's. I know you were expecting A's in the description of "exceptional", but I am very proud of him. For not being a math brain he did excellent. Now Tyler can rest this summer and just think about the coming of our little one which happens in two weeks and a couple of days and look forward to going to Cal Poly Pomona and really immerse himself in what he loves.

We come to a close of an amazing journey

Leah is considered full term she could deliver anyday. Her actual due date is July 12th but who really knows when that day will come. So our bags are packed and just waiting patiently. Today was our appointment with Dr. Yu, and can I just say that having an excellent doctor makes a difference in your experience with pregnancy, especially as a first time mother and a first time father. The update on Zoe is that she is moving into position for that special day. She has dropped and is still in a crowned position which doctor Yu seems to think will not change from this point on. This explains Leah's frequent stops to the bathroom. She has a strong heartbeat of 140 beats per minute and is doing very well. Zoe's estimated weight at delivery is 7 pounds no larger. Dr Yu told Leah that she should expect an easy delivery since she has had such a healthy outlook on this pregnancy, between her dedicated trips to the pool everyday and eating healthy she has gained 15 pounds. I am so impressed to how Leah has handled herself during these 9 months. I am so proud of her for taking on this huge responsibility and have so much confidence in her. She will be an excellent mother, which is something I saw in her as I was dating her and one of the many reasons why I married her. I look forward to being a father and the many adventures of parenthood with of course my wife by my side.

Zoe's room a work in progress

Tyler is a man of many talents. Who knew he could be such a handy man. This is what our saturday night date consisted of paint, paint and more paint. Swiss coffee is being used on the door, ceiling, closet doors, and window frame. The Chaparral color will be used on the walls only. It's coming together, her room should be done this week. We have been having so much fun getting her room prepared.

We love Dunn Edwards

Saturday morning we woke up excited because we knew we were taking a fun little trip to "Dunn Edwards" Those who are not familiar with this place it is a paint store. These are our results after an hour in the store, Swiss Coffee, Chaparral, Cupid's arrow, rock n rose, heartfelt, and rosy cheeks. It's been finalized and the paint has been purchased.

Now we are a matching trio

How could I resist. Tyler and I were in the mall today shopping for our friends baby shower gift, when all of a sudden Tyler pulled me into the Vans shoe store and told me to pick out my pair of Vans shoes. How could I resist, now we are a complete trio Tyler, Zoe, and I. You will just have to wait for the coming attraction when you will see all of us in our matching Van Shoes. By the way this is my first pair of Vans Shoes that I have ever owned. I know it's so unamerican of me right? It's like living in America and not ever having a BBQ, or never going to a Dodger game, or having never eaten a slice of apple pie. I have officially been Americanized.

August is the BIG month

The Foresters celebrate another wedding in the family. This is George Rachel's fiance. He is an art student at one of the most prestige schools in California, The Pasadena Art Center. HE is our beautiful Gautamalan brother in law that probably will end up being famous for his talent in art. George welcome to our family. We are truly happy for the both of you. August is the big month that we are looking forward to.

The Sister from San Fransisco

Courtney Forester who lives in San Fransisco comes down to L.A whenever she can between her job, calling, dating, and extra curricular activities. It's always nice to have her home for the short visits. Courtney we love and miss you. It was so nice to see you and Cameron this weekend. When Zoe is born we will come and visit you so Zoe can see her Auntie Courtney.

Angie Jensen the miracle woman

One night we got a call at 9:30 from our friend Grant wondering if he could come over to drop something off. What Grant was dropping off at our house was two plates full of Nanaimo Bars. Why this is news to blog about? Let me explain, Tyler served his mission for his church in Calgary Canada. While serving there for two years he came to love this particular dessert that the people of Canada made for him and his companions. It became a Canadian delicasy to him especially coming back home to America where he recieved no Nanaimo bars. There had always been this missing void in his life untill the night of June 8th when Grant came to deliver on behalf of his Canadian wife Angie these beautiful, yummy desserts. Tyler was completely elated and in his excitment said this "Angie is a miracle woman" Thanks Angie for making my husband so happy right before finals, it's what he needed to pass his tests. A big thanks to Angie for helping him graduate Citris College. I am sorry to say that you have started something, something called tradition. He will now want these treats before every final. I would be glad to make it from him but he said that I dont have the "It factor", which is being a born and raised Canadian. You may have gotten yourself a permenant calling. Again thanks for the fun surprise.

The PERFECT celebration for Zoe

Let me introduce these two wonderful women in this picture. On the left is Rosie Bister she has been a neighbor, babysitter, and friend to the Foresters for many many years. On the right is Michelle Mosely she has been a dear friend to John and Lynn way before their kids arrived. These two beautiful women are responsible for putting on the most wonderful baby shower for Zoe and I. It was a perfect afternoon filled with yummy food, dear friends, and cute cute clothes, toys, and essentials for Zoe. Tyler and I could not think of a better afternoon spent on June 7th. Thanks Rosie and Michelle we love and appreciate all that you did to make our little girl feel loved and supported.

A delightful farewell

Here she is Big Bertha. I know, I cant believe we have hung on to her for this long. Your probably wondering if she still functions. Absolutley she does, she is large and in charge, but we say good bye to her after a good 25 years.

The gift that will keep on giving

I was raised with my dad's big honkin huge over the shoulder mother load camcorder, we called it big bertha. It went with him every where, to all of my softball games, every play I was in, every family party and event we had, like I said every where . My brother and I had our lives recorded to a "T", which at the time it was annoying to be followed by the big black leach that hung on that shoulder of his, but as I look back I am so grateful for Big Bertha. I love watching my parents home videos. It is something that I definately want to do with my family. Well two nights ago Tyler and I recieved our Baby shower gift from John and Lynn, Tylers parents, guess what we got? Yep it was a camcorder you can only imagine what was going through my mind. Yes thats right Big Bertha continues in our family although I have to say that Big Bertha has definately improved her look. We love our Sony HD SR 11 camcorder. Thank you Thank you Thank you John and Lynn. Expect to get many videos of Zoe via email. We love you and THANK YOU again.

"Are you scared to become parents?"

This photo was taken back in February, Tyler and I decorated cookies for each other for Valentines Day. My creation is on the right and Tylers on the left. The steady question that has been frequently asked "Are you scared to become parents?" Absolutley not. I like to think that like these cookies and how different they are, go well together, are very compatible. We are very excited to be parents and feel so blessed at this time of our lives. Just today at Urban Renewal a lady said to me "Your life will change drasticlly once you have the baby." I thought about what she said, it's definately not the first time I have heard this statement. Every time I do hear it it gets me even more excited, it's a change we look forward to.
