What the future holds

In the Korean tradition 5 items are symbolic of the abundant life. The fruit symbolizes: Health, the pen and the book: Knowledge, the twine: Longevity of life, and finally money: symbolizes Wealth. Although Zoe's selection was: health, because we ran the risk of her grabbing everything on the table which would represent greed, she has been blessed with the opportunity of acquiring them all; for this knowledge we are both humble and grateful.

Zoe's 1st Birthday

Zoe's actual birth day was Saturday 7-11-2008, hence Tyler's Dad's nickname for Zoe, "Slurpee", but due to scheduling we celebrated Sunday. The party was great, everyone who showed can well attest. Equipped with water slides, Korean garb, and plenty of food we all enjoyed the occasion.

Zoe has turned 1, or 2 or something. Because of Leah and my heavy American cultural experience we are completely disconnected with our family's Korean heritage. So, in an attempt to revitalize or birth some kind of connection we will officially be celebrating Zoe's 1st or 2nd birthday Korean style, or at least something in like fashion. Get ready for a totally Korean Leah and Zoe as we photograph the day 7-12-2009. We hope our attempt to re-forge the severed link to Leah's mysterious past will bring us the blessings of our ancestors in the year to follow.
